Daily prompt- Green

This is in response to the daily post- Green

How long has it been

Since you have seen

How the apples we picked

Are turning green?

How long has it been

Since you have seen

How the roses I once loved

Have withered all their green?

How long has it been

Since you have seen

How the sole witness to our kiss,

The lake, has dried into green?

How long has it been

Since all I have seen

Is the red in your heart

Decaying fast into green?

How long has it been

Since all that’s left

Between us, is my heart

And your dream?

How long…

  1. So well put up are your words that it doesn’t really fit in the layman’s mind. That was really striking and penetrating. It had emotions too.

      1. You’re most welcome. 😃
Connections are something that are just natural.😉
Those words seem tender yet they appear to impact the thought process that I have.
They have the depth behind that simplicity.
They have emotions behind that numbness.
It’s a lot more than words could explain or express.

  2. I’m green with envy that you wrote such a post – perfect for springtime. I’d never thought of green as a color for decay, but you found some vivid examples. Nice job.
