This is in response to the daily post- Green
How long has it been
Since you have seen
How the apples we picked
Are turning green?
How long has it been
Since you have seen
How the roses I once loved
Have withered all their green?
How long has it been
Since you have seen
How the sole witness to our kiss,
The lake, has dried into green?
How long has it been
Since all I have seen
Is the red in your heart
Decaying fast into green?
How long has it been
Since all that’s left
Between us, is my heart
And your dream?
How long…
Always thought of green color as the color of environment and beauty. But the way you described, it showed the depth of green. Well written 🙂

So well put up are your words that it doesn’t really fit in the layman’s mind. That was really striking and penetrating. It had emotions too.
Really good one Sparsh.
One of the best till date.
Keep going great.👍👍👍

Thanks 😊
I didn’t know you would like it so much….any particular reasons to connect with these words?

You’re most welcome. 😃
Connections are something that are just natural.😉
Those words seem tender yet they appear to impact the thought process that I have.
They have the depth behind that simplicity.
They have emotions behind that numbness.
It’s a lot more than words could explain or express.

That’s the power of poetry actually. And those who can unearth it carry great connections with the heart.

What a different take on green. When I saw the image of the lake surrounded by the verdant landscape, I did not imagine that I am going to read about decay. Well done.

Thanks a lot.
Though, I felt the lake signified love, surrounded by all this green (and decaying) stuff in our life. 🙂

I’m green with envy that you wrote such a post – perfect for springtime. I’d never thought of green as a color for decay, but you found some vivid examples. Nice job.

And surprisingly the “green with envy” part never struck me 😉
